Appointments

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us we may offer you a consultation:

  • By phone
  • Face to face at the surgery
  • On a video call
  • By text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

How You Can Help Us

  • Be on time for your appointment
  • Tell us if you need to cancel your appointment
  • Call for a home visit or urgent appointment before 10am
  • Order your repeat prescription 48 hours in advance
  • Ring for test results after 11.30am
  • Non medical issues such as sick notes etc. can be requested via patches using the above link

Home Visits

Home visits can be requested by ringing the surgery before 10am. It is important that we have your current phone number as a doctor may ring you back to discuss your problem and to discuss alternatives to a home visit if appropriate. If it is an urgent problem which the doctor feels can’t wait then an ambulance may be suggested.

Please note that in the time it takes to do one home visit several patients could be seen in a well equipped consulting room at the surgery.

Home visits are for terminally ill and truly housebound patients. Parents, naturally, worry about moving unwell babies and children. It is quite safe to do so and means your child will receive quicker treatment at the surgery

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Please call us as soon as possible if you need to cancel an appointment in order that we can give the slot to another patient.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone or face-to-face
  • If you need an interpreter
  • If you have any other access or communication needs

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
